Wednesday 19 November, 2014 marks World COPD Day

Today, Wednesday 19 November, 2014, is World COPD Day.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a long-term condition that causes inflammation in the lungs, damaged lung tissue and a narrowing of the airways, making breathing difficult. It is the cause of 300,000 deaths in Europe each year.

ELF also recently published some patient guidelines on pulmonary rehabilitation, a course of exercises commonly prescribed to people with COPD.
