Grants available to support your Healthy Lungs for Life events

For the second year in a row, ELF is offering grants of €1,000 to support Healthy Lungs for Life events around the world.

Organised by ELF and ERS, Healthy Lungs for Life raises awareness of the importance of healthy lungs through a range of events, projects and promotional activities.

The themes of the campaign include: #BreatheCleanAir, #BeSmokeFree, #TakeTheActiveOption, and #Vaccinate. These topics aim to raise awareness of some of the key ways in which we can protect our lungs and keep our lungs healthy. Visit healthylungsforlife.org for more information about the campaign and previous events.

We encourage everyone to get involved with the campaign by holding events in local communities to help spread the important messages around the world. There are many different types of events that you can hold. The most common events involve free public lung function testing, where members of the public are encouraged to get a spirometry test to learn more about their lung health.

A range of resources are available in the Healthy Lungs for Life toolkits to help you plan for and advertise your event.

To support these events, two rounds of grant applications will take place over the course of 2020. Each round will offer five grants of €1,000 to individuals, not-for-profit organisations, patient groups and respiratory professionals to support Healthy Lungs for Life activities.

The first round of applications is now open and will close on Saturday 29 February 2020.

Help spread these powerful messages worldwide and organise your own event in your local area.
