Applications open for ELF Chair
Applications are now open for the next ELF Chair, whose role will begin in September 2020.
The ELF Chair is a very important position and is key to helping ELF develop and achieve its aims. The Chair is elected for a period of three years.
Current ELF Chair, Isabel Saraiva, said: “I am very proud of what ELF has accomplished during my time as Chair, and I hope that my successor will be able to continue promoting our interests as leaders in the fields of patient information, involvement and engagement in lung health. In my time as Chair as I have focussed on women, rare diseases, air quality and health inequalities. It has been fantastic to see some of my priorities come to fruition in a range of activities and projects.”
The role involves being an ambassador for lung health and ERS/ELF, furthering the role of patients in ERS activities and working with ERS leadership, speaking on behalf of ELF to press and the public, and chairing meetings of the ELF Council, amongst other responsibilities.
ELF is looking for an individual who is living with a lung condition, has a good understanding of clinical issues, experience working with patients and patient organisations, interest in public and patient involvement and education, and an ability to engage in advocacy at the European level.
The successful individual should also have the time required to devote to various duties, have excellent communication skills and be able to work in English. Please see the job description below for further details.
