Clinical trials are a form of research that help to evaluate how well drugs work for different patients at various stages of their condition.
Trials are tested on patients willing and able to take part. Some trials test new therapies to see how effective they are and others test current treatments to see how results can be improved or side effects managed better.
There are many lung cancer clinical trials taking place in Europe - search for them on these databases:
- EU Clinical Trials Register - lung cancer search
- EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer) - Clinical Trials Database
- NHS Choices, lung cancer clinical database by country (WHO)
- Cancer Research UK: Clinical Trials Database
Talk to your healthcare professionals if you want to find out more about taking part in a trial.
